Our fantastic pop-up books will keep children amused for hours on end! Having a practical and exciting way to learn, children tend to fall in love with books, and the idea of reading, much more readily. In the past, we have produced books that help children learn about toys, animals, transportation, colors, numbers and just about any other thing that children need to be introduced to. Children love to explore the world – and we, at Gold Printing, aim to make that exploration as fun as possible!
Structurally, pop-up books are made up of paper elements within the pages and these can be manipulated by the reader. Some call these 'moveable' books. Our range of pop-ups includes text, illustrations, and folded, glued, or pull-tab elements that move within the pages of the story. Our pop-ups are second to none and knowing that they will be handled again and again by children, we make them as tough as tough can be!
The moveable paper elements within the pop-up books require the expertise what Gold Printing term our skilled 'paper engineers'. This paper engineer is half engineer and half-artist. Creativity is at the heart of what we do and our pop-up books are the proof of this.
Our 'paper engineers' are constantly seeking new and, fun challenges to test their skills. They can successfully manipulate paper and card to provide the effect you require. The 'paper engineer' informs the printing managers how the moveable elements will be incorporated into the book and then, after that, the relevant pieces are cut, died (coloured) and then assembled.
Generally, the die-cutting is very expensive and complex. The sleight of hand that you need to complete pop-up books must be seen to be believed! Yet, our ‘paper engineers’ possess the patience, the skill and the attention to detail required to pass such tests with flying colors. Pieces must be cut, folded and pasted by hand.(Some projects we have worked on have required over 100 elements that require delicate hand manipulation). Our pop-up books have been the subject of at least two art museum exhibits.
